Customer Responsibility

By purchasing from GarageRebel.com, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy. If you need any clarification regarding a product's specifications or return eligibility before making a purchase, please reach out to our team via email or phone. We aim to be completely transparent so you can make informed decisions.

Return Window

We offer a standard 30-day return window for most eligible items. Select brands or specialized equipment require a restricted 14-day return window due to manufacturer constraints. Any item subject to a 14-day window will feature a clear disclosure directly on its individual product page prior to purchase.

1) Before You Return: Return Authorization Required

All returns require prior written approval and a Return Authorization number (RMA/RAN).
To initiate a return, email returns@garagerebel.com with:

  • Your Order Number

  • The specific item(s) you wish to return

  • Your reason for the return

Returns sent to our business address or warehouses without a valid, written RMA will be refused. We do not accept in-person drop-offs unless explicitly approved in writing.

Return authorization will include the exact return address (which may be different from our business address). Do not ship returns to any address unless provided in the authorization.

Approved Return Method: Return shipping arrangements (carrier, service level, and labeling) must follow the instructions provided with your return authorization.

No Freight Collect / COD: Do not ship returns freight-collect or COD. Shipments sent with charges due on delivery will be refused.

RMA Expiration: Issued return authorizations are valid and must be used within 7 business days of receipt. Returns shipped after the authorization expires may be refused.

2) Return Condition Requirements

To qualify for a refund, returned items must meet the following strict criteria:

  • Must be unused, uninstalled, unassembled, and unmodified.

  • Must be complete with all original parts, hardware, accessories, manuals, and packaging materials.

  • Must be in its original packaging and in resalable condition.

If an item shows signs of use, wear, or has been partially or fully assembled/installed, the return will be denied, or a diminished partial refund may be offered at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to request photos or videos of the item and its packaging to verify condition before issuing an RMA.

3) Non-Returnable Items (Common Examples)

The following items are strictly final sale and cannot be returned or refunded:

  • Gift cards
  • Custom / made-to-order / special order items
  • Clearance or liquidation items explicitly marked "Final Sale" on the product page
  • Items that have been used, installed, assembled, or modified
  • Items missing parts, accessories, or original packaging materials
  • Items containing hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases.

4) Return Shipping and Refusals

Return shipping costs are the sole responsibility of the customer.

Return Transit Responsibility: The customer assumes all risk of loss or damage during return transit. We strongly recommend insuring your return shipment and using a trackable carrier. For large freight items, returns must be professionally palletized and strapped to the same standard as received.

Prepaid Convenience Labels: If Garage Rebel assists by providing a prepaid return shipping label as a convenience, the actual cost of that return freight/parcel shipping will be deducted from your final refund.

Refused or Undeliverable Shipments: If a shipment is refused for reasons other than documented freight damage, or is returned to sender due to delivery appointment failures, incorrect addresses, or unreachable contact info, it will be processed as a standard return. The customer will be responsible for outbound shipping fees, return freight fees, any carrier storage/terminal fees, and the applicable restocking fee.

Address Accuracy: Customers are responsible for providing a correct, deliverable shipping address and reachable contact information. Fees incurred due to address errors or delivery failures are the customer’s responsibility.

Packaging Requirement:
Returns must be packaged to the same standard as received (including pallet/crate when applicable). If a return is damaged in transit due to insufficient packaging, the return may be denied or a partial refund may apply.

5) Transparent Restocking Fees & Refunds

Restocking fees vary by product, supplier, brand, and product category. To provide transparency, Garage Rebel uses a tier-based restocking system.

  • Tier 1 — 10% Restocking Fee: Applies to items designated under our standard return processing tier.

  • Tier 2 — Up to 25% Restocking Fee: Applies to items designated under our mid-tier handling, freight, supplier, or fulfillment tier. The actual restocking fee may be lower depending on the item, but will not exceed 25%.

  • Tier 3 — Up to 35% Restocking Fee: Applies to highly specialized, custom-built, oversized, freight, or heavy industrial equipment subject to advanced factory return constraints. The actual restocking fee may be lower depending on the item, but will not exceed 35%.

When a product has a shorter return window or a higher restocking tier than our standard policy, the applicable return window and restocking tier will be shown on the product page prior to purchase.

How to Verify Your Item's Tier: To ensure absolute clarity before you buy, all products feature an explicit disclosure directly on its individual product page stating its exact restocking percentage. If no specific restocking tier is noted on the product page, the item defaults to the standard Tier 1 (10%) policy.

Refund Calculation: Approved refunds are calculated as the total purchase price paid for the item, minus applicable restocking fees and any return shipping costs incurred by Garage Rebel. Original outbound shipping charges covered by Garage Rebel under a "Free Shipping" promotion are non-refundable.

Discounts & Tax: Refunds reflect the actual amount paid after discounts/promotions. Sales tax is refunded where applicable.

Price Changes & Refund Basis: Prices may change at any time. Any approved refund is based on the amount actually paid on the order (after discounts/promotions), not the item’s current price.

No Price Adjustments: Except as outlined in our Price Match Policy, we do not offer price adjustments for items that go on sale or change price after purchase.

Price Match & Returns: If a price match is approved, any eligible return/refund will be calculated based on the adjusted amount actually paid.

6) Damaged, Defective, Missing, or Wrong Items

⚠️Freight/LTL: You must inspect your freight shipment thoroughly BEFORE signing the delivery receipt or Bill of Lading (BOL). If you see visible damage or missing cartons, note it clearly on the BOL (e.g., "pallet crushed, box torn") and take photos/videos before signing. Signing without notes indicates you received the item in good condition and may void carrier claims.

Concealed Damage (after delivery): Please unpack and inspect your items immediately. Any hidden or concealed damage must be reported to support@garagerebel.com within 3 business days of delivery. Keep all packaging, pallets, and foam for carrier inspection.

Missing/Wrong Items: Please report any missing components or incorrect items within 3 business days of delivery.  Include photos of the item, packaging, shipping label(s), and any carton labels. 

Missing After Delivery Confirmation: For packages marked delivered but not received, we may require a carrier investigation, a signed affidavit, and/or a police report (as applicable) to support the claim.

Keep Packaging: Keep all original packaging, pallet/crate, and packaging materials until your item is inspected and you confirm everything is acceptable. Missing packaging may limit claim eligibility.

Do not assemble/install items with damage, missing parts, or suspected shipping issues, as doing so voids your claim.

Split Shipments: Some orders ship in multiple boxes or separate shipments. Please allow all packages to arrive and review tracking before reporting missing items.

Cosmetic Notes: Minor cosmetic blemishes that do not affect structural integrity or mechanical functionality do not qualify as manufacturing defects.

7) Refund Timing

Please allow 3 to 7 business days after the return arrives at the warehouse facility for our team to inspect and process your return. Once approved, refunds are credited back strictly to your original payment method. Please allow an additional 7–10 business days for your bank or credit card provider to process the refund to the original form of payment.

Return Inspection: Refunds are issued only after inspection is completed and approved. Return condition is determined upon inspection at the warehouse. Photos taken at receipt may be used to document condition.

Force Majeure: Return processing timelines may be impacted by events beyond our control (e.g., carrier delays, severe weather, natural disasters, labor disruptions, acts of government, or other similar events).

8) Cancellations / Order Changes

We process orders quickly.

  • Before shipment: Cancellation or modification requests must be submitted in writing to support@garagerebel.com within 2 hours of placing the order. If a cancellation request is received within this 2-hour window but the order has already entered warehouse processing, component pulling, or manufacturer staging, a standard administrative processing fee of up to 10% will be deducted from your refund to cover non-refundable merchant processing fees and internal logistics costs.

  • After shipment: Orders cannot be modified or canceled and must follow the return process (if eligible).

  • If an item is unavailable, we will notify you as soon as possible.

Cancellation requests are not guaranteed and depend on whether the order has already been processed or shipped.

9) Labor / Installation Costs

Garage Rebel does not reimburse labor costs (installation, removal, electrician/plumber fees, or contractor time under any circumstances). Please confirm product specs and site requirements before ordering.

Fitment / Site Requirements: Customers are responsible for confirming measurements, electrical requirements, clearances, and compatibility before ordering.

Fitment Returns: Items that have been assembled, installed, or used are not eligible for return due to fitment/compatibility issues.

10) Payment Issues / Disputes

If something is wrong, please contact us first at support@garagerebel.com so we can resolve it quickly. Customers retain any rights provided by applicable law.

11) Warranty Note

Most products include a manufacturer warranty. Any limitations apply only to the extent permitted by law. Warranty coverage may vary based on intended use (residential vs commercial). Please review the manufacturer warranty terms on the product page before purchase. Garage Rebel does not provide additional warranties beyond the manufacturer’s warranty.

We reserve the right to update this policy at any time. Changes apply to new orders placed after the effective date.
